What a great idea for pissing off all the franchises fans
I love Stargate and was extremely disappointed when the newest version suddenly got shelved. Michael Shanks and others were online talking about it. There’d been a petition. New blood is important, but this feels like theft. Where are Dean Devlin etc. I’ll watch the first episode but there’s already a blemish on it. Don’t muck it up!!
This will fail like dr who and spartacus star trek because they are not making the show for the fans they are making this show for people who will not watch and it will fail
Great! But how does this happen without Emmerich and Devlin? Did they pass on getting involved?
MGM passed on them getting involved.
so instead of the really promising Martin Gero series, which had the support of original creators and cast, we get this?
What do you mean by “this”? Jac Schaeffer, one of the best TV writers working today?
Honestly, what I’ve heard about Martin Gero’s version didn’t particularly excite me, especially the reported alternate-Earth premise. *WandaVision* is one of Marvel’s best shows, and *Agatha All Along* was excellent too.
I’m happy to give Schaeffer a chance rather than gatekeep Stargate. Pun intended. 😉
