Blakey traded from Swans to Roos

Star defender Nick Blakey has been transferred from the Sydney Swans to North Melbourne as part of the AFL’s trade period.

The move sees Blakey, a key player in the Swans’ defensive line, join the Kangaroos ahead of the upcoming season. Details of the trade agreement, including any draft picks or player exchanges, have not been disclosed publicly.

The transaction was confirmed during the official AFL trade window, which runs each year to allow clubs to negotiate player movements and list changes. Both clubs have expressed optimism about the deal’s impact on their respective squads.

Blakey’s departure from Sydney and arrival at North Melbourne marks a significant shift in his AFL career, with expectations that he will continue to contribute at a high level in his new environment.
