Saudi Aramco’s headquarters in Dhahran was hit by an attack on the night of 13 October, causing extensive damage to the office complex. A fire broke out on the ninth floor of the south wing and spread between the sixth and tenth floors, affecting several levels of the building.

The blaze reached the top three floors, where the chief executive’s office is located, resulting in a collapsed ceiling and blown‑out windows and doors. The fire continued into the early hours of 14 October, according to reports from the site.

The Saudi energy ministry confirmed that the incident caused a limited fire but did not provide further details on casualties or the extent of operational disruption. Despite the damage, the complex’s operations centre, which monitors the company’s onshore and offshore oil rigs, refineries, export terminals and pipeline network, remained functional.

Some employees have been instructed to work from home, while other functions have been temporarily shifted to Aramco’s global offices. The company’s day‑to‑day activities at the Dhahran site have continued as normal, according to internal sources.

The attack occurred amid heightened fighting between Yemen’s Iran‑aligned Houthi forces and Saudi Arabia, which the ministry said had intensified in the days leading up to the incident.

Aramco did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the damage or its impact on the company’s operations.
