A north-west Queensland man has had $280,000 in government funding for youth crime prevention terminated after he was charged with multiple drug offences.

Brodie Germaine received the funding from the Queensland government for his 'Camp Fire' initiative, aimed at diverting Mount Isa Aboriginal youth from crime through fitness, mentoring, and on-country programs.

The Queensland Department of Youth Justice and Victim Support said the one-off funding arrangement to Brodie Germaine Fitness was terminated by the department on September 29.

The department has also sought payment for unspent grant funds.

Mr Germaine has been charged with possessing utensils or pipes, possessing dangerous drugs, supplying dangerous drugs, and possessing anything used in the commission of a crime.

The 29-year-old's case was mentioned in the Mount Isa Magistrates Court on Monday.

The Queensland Department of Justice said it could not comment on the status of Mr Germaine's blue card to work with children.

Mr Germaine is expected to appear again in the Mount Isa Magistrates Court on November 9.
