Reviews are underway after two Queensland patients died in separate incidents while waiting for medical care.

A 53-year-old man who was experiencing chest pains called Triple Zero (000) to his property in the Brisbane suburb of Annerley on Saturday night.

Paramedics arrived two hours later and found the man dead inside the residence.

The Queensland Ambulance Service has confirmed a review into the matter has been launched.

"The death of a patient is a tragedy, and we extend our condolences to their family and loved ones," a QAS spokesperson said.

On Tuesday afternoon a man in his 80s was under the care of paramedics while waiting for a bed at Mater Private Hospital for approximately three hours.

Upon being admitted he went into cardiac arrest.

The man had a "do not resuscitate order" and died shortly afterwards.

In a statement addressing both matters, Health Minister Tim Nicholls extended his condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.

He said the cases would be reviewed "as will always happen when these types of tragic events occur — to ensure all procedures and protocols were followed".

The latest Queensland Health performance data shows ambulance ramping is sitting at 42 per cent across the state's 26 top public hospital emergency departments.
