Russian drone strikes Ukraine’s security service headquarters - Financial Times

A Russian unmanned aerial vehicle struck the headquarters of Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) in Kyiv on Friday. The impact hit the building that houses the agency’s central operations.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said the drone was directed specifically at the personal office of the SBU chief. He instructed the security service to deliver an “appropriate, tangible response” to the attack.

Ukraine’s foreign minister described the incident as a “major escalation” in the ongoing hostilities between the two countries.

The strike resulted in injuries to five people, according to Ukrainian officials. Medical services attended to those affected at the scene.

The attack adds to a series of recent drone operations targeting Ukrainian infrastructure amid the broader conflict, prompting heightened security measures in the capital.
