Russia and North Korea have officially opened their first road bridge connecting the two nations across their shared border. The new infrastructure project spans the Tumen River, linking the Russian town of Khasan in the far east with the North Korean town of Tumangang.
The bridge measures approximately one kilometre in length. It is situated in a remote and sparsely populated region located only a few miles from the coast.
The completion of this project is being viewed as a significant indicator of the strengthening relationship between Moscow and Pyongyang. Diplomatic and logistical ties between the two countries have intensified notably since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine.
Reports regarding the opening were confirmed by state-affiliated news agencies. The bridge serves as a physical manifestation of the expanding cooperation and deepening political and economic links currently developing between the two states.
