AFL semi-final: Adelaide Crows face Brisbane Lions

Spare a thought for Zac Bailey after his brain snap to top all brain snaps when he found himself in front of goal at close range, completely unmarked, only for his shot to hit the side of his boot and for the ball to cannon into the posts.

It would have been three goals to Bailey, and his second in quick succession, against the club that had so actively hunted his signature until he recommitted to the Lions this week.

Fortunately for Bailey, despite an Adelaide fightback in the second term in which they kicked the opening three majors and cut the margin to less than two goals, his teammates rediscovered their mojo – Charlie Cameron taking his own goal tally to four as Take Me Home, Country Roads gets a proper workout throughout the Gabba.

The Crows cut the Lions’ lead to less than two goals, but the Lions roared again and they take a 38-point lead into the second half.

Zac Bailey and Charlie Cameron were stellar, while Oscar Allen had a difficult shot after the siren that just missed.

One thing to note – the Lions had a whopping 22 scoring shots in that first half. They could have been up by even more.
