Drone strike hits Kyiv petrol station and warehouse facilities, mayor says

A drone strike hit a petrol station in Kyiv early on Tuesday, injuring one person, according to the city’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko, who posted the information on the Telegram messaging app. The same day a separate drone attack targeted warehouse facilities in another part of the capital, and a witness in Kyiv reported hearing an explosion.

The incident occurred a day after U.S. President Donald Trump said that Ukraine and Russia had agreed not to target each other’s energy assets. Ukrainian authorities note that Russia has recently broadened its targeting of fuel infrastructure, having struck roughly 300 petrol stations in recent months, most of them located in or near the country’s frontline regions.

Poland responded to the heightened activity of stray military drones by briefly initiating its own military aviation operations as a preventive measure, though the Polish Armed Forces later clarified that no violation of Polish airspace had taken place. In Lithuania, a NATO fighter jet shot down a drone after a drone alert was issued over the capital, Vilnius, and surrounding areas, according to the Lithuanian National Crisis Management Centre.

The series of drone incursions has raised concerns among NATO members about the potential spill‑over of the conflict beyond Ukraine’s borders. Authorities in the region continue to monitor airspace closely as both sides employ unmanned aerial systems.

Separately, Ukrainian forces launched a missile attack that damaged a warehouse in Russia, adding to the list of cross‑border strikes reported in the ongoing conflict.
