Emergency services were called to a home in Auburn about 2:05pm on Tuesday.

Police were told the child was hit by a car entering the driveway.

She was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition, but has since died.

A 27-year-old man was taken to Auburn Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established and an investigation is underway.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
