Particularly one concerning the government’s floated “breach bail, go to jail” bill, which has sparked serious criticism from several major organisations and independent bodies.
One issue raised among the more than 250 submissions to the Justice, Integrity and Community Safety Committee’s is detention capacity.
This is because the bill seeks to create a new offence that could be applied to anyone – adult or child – who commits a range of offences while already on bail.
