Edie Falco to star in new Fox legal drama 'Katie Greaves'

Fox has greenlit a drama series starring Emmy winner Edie Falco, but it won’t arrive until the 2027-28 season.

The network has placed a straight-to-series order for a legal drama with the working title Katie Greaves, with Falco in the title role. She’ll play a former New Hampshire public defender who left that role after a personal tragedy but finds herself pulled back into the courtroom, all while she and her husband raise their two young granddaughters.

The series is produced by Fox Entertainment Studios and Scott Free Productions and created by Sharr White (Presumed Innocent, Palm Royale), who will also serve as showrunner.

“Sharr has created an extraordinary character in Katie Greaves: funny, formidable, deeply human, and driven to fight for people who might otherwise be overlooked, including her own family,” said Fox Television Network president Michael Thorn. “The incredibly talented Edie Falco brings all of that strength, wit, and vulnerability to the screen, and there is no one we’d rather have at the center of this story. “Together with Sharr’s singular voice and the incredible creative pedigree of Ridley Scott, David Zucker, and the team at Scott Free, we have exactly the kind of elevated, visceral character drama we want at Fox.”

Katie Greaves is the third series Fox has ordered for the 2027-28 season, joining a remake of Highway to Heaven and the Family Guy spinoff Stewie.

Falco has won four Emmys for her roles on The Sopranos and Nurse Jackie. Her other TV credits include Mayor of Kingstown, Bupkis with Pete Davidson, Impeachment: American Crime Story and Law & Order True Crime.

White will executive produce Katie Greaves with Ridley Scott and David W. Zucker for Scott Free and Falco.
