Netflix had scheduled the debut of a three‑part documentary series about former pop star and convicted sexual offender Gary Glitter for October 14. The series, titled “Hunting Gary Glitter,” was directed by Sebastian Smith and produced by Voltage TV.
The docuseries examines Glitter’s career and the criminal convictions that have defined his public legacy. It was slated to be part of Netflix’s upcoming releases for the fall season.
In the weeks leading up to the planned premiere, the streaming platform removed the series’ trailer from YouTube and announced that the launch would be postponed. Netflix cited “new legal information” as the reason for the delay.
A Netflix spokesperson confirmed that the company had become aware of legal information that warranted postponing the series, but declined to provide further specifics. The spokesperson added that an update on the documentary’s status would be issued in the near future.
As of now, no new release date has been set for “Hunting Gary Glitter,” and the series remains unavailable on the platform.
