Baxter leaves behind an incredible legacy at the Roosters.

As coach John Strange said last week, she will always be the first captain to lift the premiership trophy for their women’s team.

But it’s more than just titles that matters, according to teammate Keeley Nizza who, between Australia, NSW and the Roosters, has played alongside Baxter for almost a decade.

It’s about what the club expects of their players.

“Everybody always speaks about team-first mentality – Corban embodies that,” said Nizza.

“She’s absolutely team first. Whatever the team needs, whether it’s fullback, 18th person, squad member 30, she does, and she does it to the best of her ability, and I feel like that’s such a testament to her and her personality and the way she’s been raised.

“It’s very easy to do when things go well, but she’s shown that she can do it at any point of her career and really put the team first. She’s 100 per cent selfless.”
