Finnish leader pleads with Musk to help Ukraine hit Russian missile launchers - Reuters

Finnish President Alexander Stubb said on Thursday that he had personally appealed to SpaceX founder Elon Musk to broaden the coverage of the Starlink satellite‑internet system for Ukraine.

Stubb’s request focused on expanding the network’s reach so that Ukrainian forces could maintain reliable communications and data links in areas where existing connectivity is limited.

He explained that the expanded coverage would enable Ukraine to locate and strike Russian ballistic‑missile launchers that are positioned inside Russian territory.

The appeal reflects Finland’s ongoing support for Ukraine’s defence efforts and highlights the growing importance of commercial satellite services in modern warfare.

As of the time of reporting, neither Musk nor SpaceX had issued a public response to the Finnish president’s plea.
