AFL boss reacts to Neale decision

The Australian Football League’s appeals board has overturned a suspension that had been imposed on midfielder Lachie Neale, clearing him to take part in the forthcoming grand final.

The decision came after an appeal was lodged against the original sanction, which had rendered Neale ineligible for the championship match.

AFL chief executive Andrew Dillon said he was “happy” that Neale will be able to play in the grand final following the board’s ruling.

The reversal of the suspension means Neale’s club will have the player available for selection in the season’s decisive game.
