Bruce Highway shut after semi‑trailer crash leaves one person trapped

The Bruce Highway experienced significant traffic delays earlier today following a collision involving two heavy vehicles. The incident resulted in the temporary closure of the road while emergency services and crews managed the scene.

According to a witness at the location, the crash occurred when a crane truck struck the rear of a Linfox truck. The witness reported that traffic had been slowing in the area, prompting the driver of the crane truck to attempt to brake.

The witness further described the driver’s attempt to avoid the collision by swerving to the left. Despite this maneuver, the crane truck was unable to avoid the vehicle in front and subsequently collided with the back of the Linfox truck.

Authorities worked to clear the wreckage and manage the resulting congestion throughout the afternoon. By 2:50 p.m., traffic flow had resumed on the highway.
