DoorDash has announced plans to establish a new technology hub in Hyderabad, India, with the goal of creating 3,000 jobs over the next two years. This expansion marks the company’s second major presence in the country, following the establishment of operations in Pune.
The company’s existing Indian footprint in Pune was primarily formed through the 2021 acquisition of the robotics startup Chowbotics. Through that purchase, DoorDash integrated software, data, and analytics operations into its regional framework.
The move into Hyderabad aligns with a broader trend of international corporations establishing offshore centers in the city. In recent months, companies including Costco, McDonald's, Charles Schwab, Marriott, and Southwest Airlines have also opened similar facilities in the region.
India currently serves as a significant global hub for Global Capability Centres (GCCs). According to a 2026 report by Nasscom-Zinnov, the country hosts more than 2,100 such centers. These facilities collectively employ approximately 2.36 million people and generate nearly $100 billion in revenue.
The expansion reflects the ongoing growth of India as a strategic location for multinational technology and service operations. By scaling its workforce in Hyderabad, DoorDash aims to further develop its technical capabilities within the region.
