’24 Jump Street’ and Ridley Scott’s ‘Treasure Island’ Get 2027 Release Dates From Sony

Sony announced a series of 2027 theatrical releases during the Cinema United Fall Summit, adding several titles to its upcoming slate. Among the most prominent are a sequel to the comedy franchise “24 Jump Street” and a new adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novel.

The sequel to “24 Jump Street” is scheduled to open on December 10, 2027, positioning it for the holiday season. The film continues the comedic partnership established in the earlier installments and is expected to target a broad audience during the year‑end box‑office window.

Ridley Scott’s feature adaptation of “Treasure Island,” starring Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard, is set for a November 11, 2027 release. The project reimagines the classic adventure story with a high‑profile director and lead actor, and it will precede the “24 Jump Street” sequel by roughly one month.

In addition to the two headline titles, Sony confirmed that a comedy film titled “Lucy Schulman,” created by David Cross, Thomas Mann and Hasan Minhaj and produced by Ellie Sachs, has secured a release date, though the specific day has not been disclosed in the announcements.

The studio also added the drama “Anything But Ghosts,” written by Curry Barker and Cooper Tomlinson, to its schedule, with a planned theatrical debut in May 2027. This film joins the broader slate of releases slated for the spring and summer periods.

Collectively, the announced dates place Sony’s major releases across the latter half of 2027, with “Treasure Island” opening in early November, “24 Jump Street” in early December, and additional titles filling the spring and summer windows.
