Parra's last premiership 40 years on

The Parramatta Eels are currently marking the 40th anniversary of their most recent premiership victory in the top tier of Australian rugby league. The milestone serves as a reflection on the club's history and their performance during the 1986 season.

The championship decider, held in 1986, saw Parramatta face off against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. It remains the last time the Eels successfully secured the premiership title.

The match was a low-scoring, defensive contest that concluded with a 4-2 victory for Parramatta. This narrow margin secured the win for the Eels and cemented the result in the club's record books.

As the anniversary of this achievement is observed, the 1986 grand final continues to be highlighted as a significant moment in the history of the Parramatta club. The event is being revisited to commemorate the last time the team reached the pinnacle of the competition.
