Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry summoned India’s charge d’affaires on Saturday to lodge a formal protest regarding the deaths of two Pakistani civilians along the international border. The incident occurred on Friday in the Bedian sector, where officials reported that two individuals were killed and a third was wounded by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel.
In a statement, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry characterized the actions of the Indian border troops as unprovoked and lethal. The ministry described the use of force as unjustified and disproportionate, leading to the loss of civilian lives.
The Indian government has not provided an official comment on the incident. However, reports from Indian media citing security personnel suggest that the border forces were responding to an attempted infiltration.
Pakistan has categorically rejected the characterization of the victims as infiltrators. The Foreign Ministry has called for an immediate, transparent, and credible investigation into the events.
Furthermore, Pakistan has requested that India take appropriate disciplinary and legal action against those responsible for the incident. The ministry also urged Indian authorities to formally communicate the findings of their investigation and any subsequent actions taken to the Pakistani government.
