Schneider Electric close to $20 bn acquisition of US software firm PTC, sources say

Schneider Electric, the French multinational specializing in energy management and automation, is close to finalising an acquisition of the U.S.-based industrial software company PTC. The transaction is reported to be valued at approximately $20 billion.

PTC, which provides software solutions for product development, manufacturing and the Internet of Things, operates globally and serves customers across a range of sectors, including automotive, aerospace and industrial equipment. Schneider Electric, known for its hardware and digital solutions for energy efficiency, is seeking to broaden its portfolio with PTC’s software capabilities.
