Health Minister Aden Duale announced the development during a press conference on October 6. The patient is identified as a Kenyan national who had traveled from the Democratic Republic of Congo, a country currently managing its largest-ever outbreak of the disease.
In response to the confirmed case, health authorities have initiated contact tracing protocols. Minister Duale stated that 28 individuals have been identified as contacts of the deceased. This group includes both family members and healthcare workers who had interactions with the patient.
